~~~~Those familiar with Lewd's Yahoo Group -Orcs- should probably know what this is all about. Members of the list were asked to submit a detailed description of their Orcish self, counterpart or character for use in a number of wrestling matches. Now, this isn't just your average wrestling match. This is no holds barred, Orc-ass kicking fights. It could be compared to the (real life) Ultimate Fighting Championship but when you're dealing with Orcs, it's that much more brutal. ~~~~So who's behind this project? That would be Matthew Smith, a great artist and funny guy in general. Matt and a colleague of his, Danyal Herder, will be writing the descriptive fights. Lewd will be handing out prizes to the winner of the Championship and art contest (see below). ~~~~Here are a few words Matt has said about the whole thing: The outcome of each fight will be determined at random in a secretive fashion, and whoever can still stand up at the end of it all will be declared the winner. The person to whom the winning character belongs will get a hand-coloured (in pencil and everything) illustration of the victorious orc, and everyone who gets a character in will have him included in a big Royal Rumble-esque piccy that will also be coloured, just as soon as I can get around to it. At the end of the tournament, an art contest will be held, inviting all you talented drawing folk out there to illustrate a scene from one (or more) of the fights - anything from two characters bashing each other to a sensitive rendition of one of the corner posts (anyone who does the latter will probably not win anything, it should be pointed out) - and once the closing date has passed, members of the Orcs group will be asked to vote on which is their favourite. Whoever gets the most votes will win a set of Eudemon comics, donated in outstandingly gentlemanly fashion by the board's founder, Lewd. Bargain! ~~~~So that pretty much sums up what OWCH is all about. If you're interested, be sure to become a member of the Orcs group and be part of the fun.
